Walser Careers

Over 60 Years in the Twin Cities.

A Family Owned Business with a long history.

At Walser Automotive Group, customer service is not just a department. It’s a characteristic of our company and the great people who drive us forward. Our company is built on the idea that doing the right thing leads to success. We threw out the traditional way of buying a car, and with it, all of the stereotypes. Here you’ll find a progressive company that puts the customer first and is changing the way the industry does business.

How We Do Business

No Negotiations.

Everyone gets our best price.

There’s no reason that buying a car needs to be a confusing, nerve-wracking, day-long ordeal. We wanted to simplify the process. Our vehicles are all listed with our pre-discounted Upfront Prices so everyone will always get the best deal we offer, negotiation-free.

With our One Price system it’s easy to make an informed decision, and anyone can simply walk right in and get a great deal on a great vehicle.

One Person.

We Streamlined the Entire Customer Experience.

Our sales people are experts in the entire car buying process so that every customer can be in and out in no time. One person handles everything from vehicle selection through finance and lease options to signing the final paperwork. No one is left waiting for a manager or shuffled into a finance office. Our dedicated experts provide a personal experience, customized to each customer.

Giving Back To Our Community.

The Walser Foundation

Cars get us where we’re going, but it’s the work we do along the way that truly matters. The Walser Foundation is committed to supporting the next generation of risk-takers, innovators, and change-makers through education and career training.

Through the Walser Foundation, our company offers grants to schools and organizations that provide access to top-tier education to build a strong workforce for the future.

Our Core Values

Our Core Values aren’t just words—we stand by them. Our commitment to growth, innovation, and the customer experience has changed the car-buying journey. Our values drive and guide us in every part of our business.

Do The Right Thing

Nothing is worth compromising a relationship. Whether you’re selling a car or balancing a spreadsheet we put integrity and honesty first.

Lead By Example

Be willing to help no matter how difficult the challenge. Don’t be surprised when you see a General Manager out on the lot brushing snow off cars in the winter. We’re all on the same team here.

Display Positive Energy

A good attitude is highly contagious. Whether it’s decorating the office for the holidays or just coming to work with a smile – good energy is something we value in everyone.

Be Open-minded

The only thing that is constant is change. While cars seem as old as time the industry is constantly changing and we’re always ready for it and excited to take on new challenges!

Our History

1954

The Walser Legacy Begins

Starting with a small location in South St. Paul, Jack and two other investors purchased Peter’s Oldsmobile, starting up the Walser franchise and later adding Town’s Edge in Hopkins.

1954

1968-70s

Acquisition of Ford, Buick, and Mazda Franchises

Growth began quickly after success with the Oldsmobile dealership, as Jack acquired three more brands to add to the Walser name; a Ford location in St. Louis Park as well as the Mazda and Buicks located in Bloomington on Penn Avenue.

1968-70s

1982-85

Chrysler-Plymouth and Chevrolet Join Walser

After the previous year’s growth, Chrysler-Plymouth joined the Walser umbrella at the same location in St. Louis Park with Ford, and three years later moved to its current site at the Walser Hopkins Chrysler Jeep dealership. Following that move, Walser purchased a Chevrolet franchise from Baldwin Chevrolet, creating the fifth Walser store in the market.

1982-85

1995-97

More New Dealerships and New Leadership

During 1995, Walser acquired an existing Chrysler Plymouth Jeep franchise located in Red Wing, Minnesota, approximately 60 miles south of Minneapolis. But more importantly, in 1997, Jack’s sons Paul and Andrew Walser stepped in to take over the company from their father who was retiring, with Paul becoming CEO of the company.

1995-97

2000

The Walser Way

Under Paul’s leadership, all dealerships evolve from a typical dealership pricing model, involving haggling and hassling, to the beginning of the ‘one price’ model that we see today.

2000

2001-03

Accelerated Growth

Walser quickly grew under the leadership of Paul Walser, acquiring Bloomington Quality Lincoln Mercury, Burnsville Nissan Buick, Bloomington Peterson Pontiac GMC, Bloomington Freeway Dodge, Bloomington Toyota, Inver Hills Mazda, as well as a new Cadillac franchise which moved to Apple Valley and another Jeep franchise that joined the Walser Hopkins Chrysler location. Part of these acquisitions were consolidations of the locations, so as to create facilities better suited to giving customers the true Walser experience.

In July 2017, Walser acquired Walser Nissan Wayzata in Wayzata, MN. Several months later, it also took ownership Polar Chevrolet Mazda, a longtime dealership in White Bear Lake, MN.
